Ambassador Dr. Engr. Kingsley Okwara, Deputy Head of Mission of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, delivered a powerful keynote address at the organization’s 1st Annual Lecture and Gala Night in Abuja. Held at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, the event brought together key African leaders to discuss the continent’s transformative development strategy.
In his compelling speech, Okwara emphasized the critical importance of unity and regional integration. He passionately advocated for an Africa without borders, presenting a vision of collective progress that transcends traditional political boundaries. The address highlighted innovative programs designed to improve the lives of African citizens, including a groundbreaking mental health awareness initiative and the soon-to-be-launched Shield Bearer program.
Two standout initiatives took center stage during the event. The “Rent to Own a Home” program emerged as a strategic approach to addressing housing challenges, while the Shield Bearer program aims to provide crucial support for vulnerable populations across the continent.
The distinguished gathering included prominent leaders such as H.E. Amb. Prof. Tunji John Asaolu, Chairman of the Governing Council, and other key ambassadorial figures. A notable moment of the evening was the recognition of Chief Oscar Igbokwe, President of Bussdor Group of Companies, who received an award for his significant humanitarian and economic contributions to Africa.
Okwara’s message resonated with the core objectives of Agenda 2063 – a visionary strategic framework designed to transform Africa into a global powerhouse by 2063. The initiative focuses on comprehensive development, encompassing economic growth, social progress, cultural advancement, peace, security, and effective governance.
The 1st Annual Lecture and Gala Night served as a critical platform for stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue about Africa’s future. As the Ambassadorial Assembly continues its work, it remains committed to creating a prosperous, integrated, and sustainable continent that can realize its full potential on the global stage.
