President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration will no longer conduct the general head count scheduled for May 3–7, Apples Bite Magazine has learned.
The buck has been passed to the incoming administration to determine a new date for the exercise, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammad, stated in a statement.
“President Muhammadu Buhari approved the postponement,” he said.

According to Mohammed, the decision to postpone the exercise was reached after meeting with some members of the Federal Executive Council and the Chairman of the National Population Commission.
The statement reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the postponement of the 2023 Population and Housing Census, earlier scheduled for 3-7 3–7, 2023, to a date to be determined by the incoming Administration.
