Daniel Bwala, media aide to President Bola Tinubu, has described the fallout from his recent Al Jazeera interview with Mehdi Hasan as a deliberate attempt to remove him from his position.
In a video shared by Symfoni TV, Bwala said he would prefer not to delve too deeply into the matter but stressed that the incident was part of a planned effort to get him sacked as Special Adviser to the President.
He explained that the circumstances around the interview were orchestrated to create trouble for him, despite him fulfilling his duties.
Bwala revealed that President Tinubu had assigned him to engage with international media to present the government’s perspective and respond to global issues. Since then, he has appeared in about 187 interviews on various platforms.
“I don’t want to talk about it because it was a calculated plan, an orchestration to get me sacked. They will sack you for going to take a bullet for your principal? Are you going to be sacked for incompetence?” he said.
Bwala affirmed that he remains ready to represent and defend the government anywhere in the world.
