As All Progressives Congress (APC) continues its campaign in Ondo State ahead of the November 16 governorship election, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called on the people to vote for the ruling party, saying no other party existed in the state.
Specifically, the APC candidate said the Peoples Democratic Party had died in the state, adding that all the bigwigs of the party in the state had crossed to the APC.
He stated this in Igboibini in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state during his campaign tour to some towns and villages in the local government on Wednesday.
Aiyedatiwa said his achievements since he assumed office have attracted many members of the opposition to join him in the APC to develop the state together.
He said, “I want to thank you for your patience, as we gathered here today. I salute your love, unity, and support for us and the party. I’ll reciprocate this gesture after the election.
“No doubt, we have initiated many projects, and we will do more. Our roads, schools, and hospitals are receiving attention. We have also ensured there is security in the state. We are also employing more teachers in the school. So, come November 16, you must troop out en mass and vote for our party (APC) in the election.
“Your vote is your power, don’t waste your votes on parties that have no clear plan for Ondo State. I want you to use our vote to chase away other political parties. As you know, all the gladiators in the PDP, are now with us. We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds. In this coming election, your vote must be for the APC.”
In his remarks, the monarch of the Bolowo community, Oba George Jemine, commended Aiyedatiwa for various developmental projects across the state.
He, however, urged Aiyedatiwa to do more, especially in the area of education and healthcare sectors.
“We need the renovation of our public schools to ensure our children learn in a conducive environment. The approval of additional secondary schools is crucial, as many of our children currently have to travel far to go to school,” he said.
