John Okafor, the popular actor known as Mr. Ibu, has died of cardiac arrest.
Okafor, 62, had been hospitalised for some months before he succumbed to death.
Emeka Rollas, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed his death in an Instagram post on Saturday.
“Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace,” he wrote.
