Credo by eTranzact has launched a market-level digital payment activation aimed at empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises.
This is coming as the company expands its digital footprint in southern Nigeria, while helping several MSME owners across the country.
Speaking via a press statement, the company revealed that the campaign was designed to aid informal retailers who wish to transition from cash-based transactions to safer and traceable digital payments.
The campaign happened across 3 major markets in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and the roadshow, organised in collaboration with Eligbam City, attracted various small and medium business owners, many of whom had no clue about how digital point-of-sale tools work.
The event saw the Credo team engaging traders at Garrison Computer Village, Rumukalagbor Market, and Rumuomasi Market via live demonstrations, onboarding sessions, and business support workshops.
Having his say at the gathering, Product Marketing Manager for Credo by eTranzact, Omokorede Amund, revealed that the purpose of the event was to build trust and guarantee long-term support to developing businesses.
“We are not just building a payment solution, we’re building confidence in the future of small businesses.
Port Harcourt is full of hustle and innovation; this roadshow allowed us to meet business owners where they are and demonstrate practical ways they can benefit from digital payments,” he said.
He stressed that the campaign will go a long way towards addressing major payment problems among traders, including unsafe transactions, daily settlement delays, and the lack of user-friendliness of digital payment tools.
For several local MSMEs, they will be forever grateful to Credo for giving them their first real exposure to digital payment solutions that suit their small-scale businesses perfectly. The activation signifies an increasing trend among Fintech companies to embrace a better payment route that will serve Nigerian businesses better.
