Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, following his criticism of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s decision to suspend the union’s activities in the state.
The exchange comes after Governor Adeleke ordered the suspension of NURTW operations across motor parks in Osun State following violent clashes involving rival factions of the union. The governor also halted the collection of levies and directed security agencies to arrest anyone operating under the banner of the union.
Representing MC Oluomo during the inauguration of a seven-member committee established to oversee the management of parks and garages in the state, NURTW Deputy President Aliyu Issa Ore argued that the governor lacked the constitutional authority to suspend the union’s operations.
According to him, the NURTW is a national body and is not under the control of any state government.
“Today, we heard that the governor of Osun State suspended the activities of our union, but they don’t have that power. No state governor has the authority to suspend the activities of the union because we are not under any state,” he said.
Reacting to the remarks, Davido, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, mocked MC Oluomo in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
The singer wrote:
“MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk.. Kudosuuuu.”
The comment has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with supporters and critics weighing in on the ongoing disagreement between the Osun State Government and the NURTW leadership.
