Israel Afeare, widely known as Israel DMW and the logistics manager for Afrobeats superstar Davido, has lost his father, Mr. Afeare Eric, at the age of 71.
Confirming the sad news in a phone conversation on Saturday, Israel revealed that his father, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, passed away on March 2 in an Ibadan hospital after a brief illness.
Describing his late father as a source of unwavering support, Israel credited him with keeping the family closely knit. “It is sad losing my father at this time. We still need him with us, but God knows better,” he said. “He was my pillar of strength and was instrumental in making the family an indivisible unit.”
Mr. Afeare Eric is survived by two wives and eight children.
