A Nigerian woman who issued a threat on TikTok to kill fellow Nigerians residing in Canada has been identified as Amaka Patience Sunnberger.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), disclosed Sunnberger’s identity on Wednesday and shared her photograph on X.
Dabiri-Erewa noted that Sunnberger has since deleted her TikTok account. She also mentioned that several Nigerians in Canada are taking steps to report her to local authorities for further action.
“This is the picture of the lady behind the voice. Amaka Patience Sunnberger. She has deleted her TikTok account and a group of Nigerians in Canada are reporting her officially to the relevant authorities in Canada,” Dabiri-Erewa stated.
During a live session on TikTok, Sunnberger threatened to poison Nigerians of Yoruba and Edo descent, claiming they lacked intelligence. She urged the Igbo community in Canada to “wake up” and “become wicked,” suggesting they had been too passive.
The video also captured voices of some men who appeared to support her statements.
