Tragedy struck the quiet town of Afashio, in Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State after five persons, including a female, were found dead in a room under questionable circumstances.
The shocking incident which occurred on Saturday, October 26, 2024, has left the community reeling.
It was gathered that two of the victims were brothers while the others are said to be their friends.
The corpses were discovered by family members who noticed that they were yet to come out of the bedroom.
According to preliminary reports, generator fumes and food poisoning are suspected to be the possible causes of the death.
The Area Commander of Auchi Police Station and the DPO Jattu Police Station have stated that no conclusions will be drawn until a thorough investigation is completed.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident, saying that investigation is ongoing.
“The command is aware. But investigation to unravel the cause of death is ongoing,” the PPRO added.
