“Egba Alake And Egbaland Becoming Inaccessible Due To Bad Roads, Help Us” – Opposition Politician Urges YAYI

An opposition politician from Ogun Central, Dr Abayomi Arabambi, has cried out over the worsening state of road infrastructure in the state. He recently said that the Egba Alake and Egbaland risk becoming inaccessible due to the deplorable roads in the Senatorial District. In an open letter addressed to the Senator representing Ogun West in the 10th Senate, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), Arabambi urged the lawmaker to do something about the bad road challenges confronting Egbaland.

According to him, the Senate Committee’s intervention has become necessary and inevitable as it is now obvious that none of the lawmakers representing the zone is prepared to take any step to address the pathetic roads situation in Ogun Central.

He further appealed to YAYI, the Aremo of Yewaland, who is vying to be Ogun State Governor in 2027, to look beyond party line or senatorial constituency and use his goodwill and political clout to attract the federal government’s support to tackle the worsening road challenges once and for all.

He concluded by saying that if the roads are rehabilitated or fixed, Ogun State indigenes and residents will be forever grateful and loyal to everyone who heeds their cry.

2027 Elections: Nine Political Parties Obtain INEC Access Codes for Candidate Nominations

July 1, 2026
The Presidency has dismissed the political strength of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, insisting that President Bola Tinubu is no longer under any threat from the former Labour Party presidential candidate. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, made the remarks during an appearance on the *Mic On Podcast*, where he defended the Tinubu administration against criticisms from the opposition. According to Dare, while Obi may have posed a significant political challenge in the past, the current administration believes its achievements have strengthened President Tinubu’s position ahead of future elections. He also rejected calls by Obi for President Tinubu to resign, arguing that such demands have no constitutional basis. “The government is not afraid of Peter Obi. Just as he has the right to ask President Tinubu to resign, the government also has the right to tell him that the President will not resign because there is no basis for such a demand,” Dare said. He stressed that Nigeria operates a constitutional presidential system with elections held every four years, adding that the proper avenue for seeking political change is through the ballot box. Dare maintained that the administration has made measurable progress in addressing the country's challenges, insisting that its performance has earned it public confidence. According to him, the government has successfully confronted critical national issues and remains focused on delivering its mandate rather than being distracted by opposition rhetoric. The presidential aide further claimed that Obi no longer represents the political force he once did, stating that the President now stands on a stronger political footing because of his administration’s record. He concluded by expressing confidence that Obi would be unable to repeat his 2023 electoral success over Tinubu in Lagos State. “Peter Obi was a threat before, but today he is no longer a threat because we stand on the solid ground of performance. We have been able to interrogate the problems of this country. Peter Obi will not defeat President Tinubu in Lagos again,” Dare declared.

We Appeal To You To Heed The Cry Of An Abandoned Senatorial District
‎
‎Distinguished Senator,
‎
‎We, the people of Ogun State, write to you with deep respect and a heart of appreciation. We are proud of your enviable record of service and the transformative touch you have brought to governance. Your commitment to the upliftment of lives, your passion for development, and your selfless leadership have endeared you not only to the people of Ogun West whom you directly represent, but to the entire Ogun State.
‎
‎We fully understand that your senatorial mandate primarily covers Ogun West Senatorial District, and we commend your tireless efforts in that regard. Indeed, the people of Yewaland have every reason to be
proud of your leadership, as you continue to deliver projects, empower lives, and drive meaningful change.
‎
‎We are also aware that it’s expedient for our Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to spend more to develop roads and other infrastructures in ogun east because of the Airport already in operation there so as to attract investors to Ogun State which is been complimented by the Distinguished Sen and Former Governor of Ogun state His excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel(OGD).
‎
‎However, Distinguished Senator, we appeal to your large heart and your well-known love for the entire Ogun populace to please extend your benevolent political and developmental gestures to other parts of the state, particularly Ogun Central Senatorial District, where many of our roads have become a death trap , nearly impassable and which is gradually pushing Egba Land into extinction
‎
‎Communities in Ogun Central are daily faced with the agony of bad roads, which has crippled movement, trade, and economic activity that has perpetually relegated Egba land to a village while Ogun East and Ogun west are now looking like a small London
‎
‎Some of the roads that needs your urgent intervention with street lights before Egba Land goes into extinction includes
‎
‎BODE OLUDE- KERIKERI-COCA COLA -AGBA AKIN ROAD,
‎
‎ANSARUDEEN PRIMARY SCHOOL JUNCTION- EMMAS HOTEL – KAJOLA ROAD
‎
‎BODE OLUDE – SUGAR -SHAPARO ROAD
‎
‎SAJE -ELEGA JUNCTION ROAD

‎EWANG -IDI ABA ,
‎
‎FIRST BANK – NEPA -ISABO ROAD,
‎
‎NAWARUDEEN – OKEYEKE- ISABO ROAD,

‎IBEREKODO,
‎
‎ELEGA -MILIKI ,
‎
‎LAFENWA -ROUNDER ROAD,
‎
‎MOKOLA,
‎
‎AGO ODO ROAD,

‎ADATAN CAR WASH -MORE JUNCTION ROAD,
‎
‎OBANTOKO -CAMP -OSIELE -ODEDA ROAD,
‎
‎AGBADO OKE ARO
‎
‎AKINBO VILLAGE ROAD EWEKORO,
‎
‎We are not oblivious of the fact that this appeal goes beyond your immediate constituency, but we are moved by the compassion and generosity that you have consistently shown — traits that have made you a true statesman and a leader of all. We believe that with your influence, advocacy, and goodwill, even limited interventions can make a lasting difference for our people.
‎
‎Distinguished Senator, this plea comes from a place of faith — faith in your ability, your empathy, and your vision for a better Ogun State. We promise, as a people of Ogun Central, that whatever developmental efforts you extend to us will not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We shall stand firmly with you and rally our total support behind you as you continue to write your name in gold in the political and developmental history of our dear state.
‎
‎We humbly appeal to you to please attend to the cry of a suppressed Senatorial District because we are in Chain
‎
‎We thank you in anticipation of your kind consideration and your continued service to the good people of Ogun State.
‎
‎With warm regards and highest respect,
‎
‎Dr Arabambi Abayomi
National Publicity Secretary (LP)
‎The Political Generalisimo
‎Most Non-Confrontational
‎Most Non-Controversial
‎
For: The Concerned Citizens of Egba Land and on behalf of Ogun Central Senatorial District,” it read.
