Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has been thrown into mourning following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who passed away at the age of 62.
The Adeosun family announced his passing in a statement released on Thursday, revealing that he died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos State.
The statement, signed by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family, described the late Anthony Adeosun as a respected businessman and a devoted Christian whose life was marked by integrity, generosity, and unwavering faith.
According to the family, he dedicated his life to hard work, service to God, and commitment to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy that positively impacted many people.
While expressing deep sorrow over the loss, the family said they remained comforted by their faith and trusted in God’s will during the difficult period.
The statement also noted that funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced at a later date.
Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, his children, and his siblings, including Kuramo Capital founder Adewale Adeosun.
The family thanked friends, associates, and well-wishers for their prayers, condolences, and support, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
