A former Nigerian senator, Elisha Abbo, has turned himself in to the Nigeria Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja following accusations of raping a 13-year-old secondary school student. The alleged assault is said to have happened on June 29, 2025, at Abbo’s residence in Katampe, Abuja.
In an exclusive statement to SaharaReporters, the minor’s parents shared that an ex-senator and ex governorship candidate in Adamawa, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a “Binani,” visited their home to personally request that they keep the matter secret.
The family further accused Elisha Abbo of making several financial transfers to the girl’s father in a clear attempt to bury the matter.
As of the time of writing this report, Abbo remains in custody pending the conclusion of a thorough investigation.

More recently, he faced accusations of blackmail after a married woman accused him of using a sex tape to extort money.
