The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he would secure a landslide victory if he decides to contest Nigeria’s presidency.
Speaking on Monday during a media chat with selected journalists, the former Rivers State governor said he remains popular among Nigerians and is confident of their support at the polls.
According to him, his ability to relate with everyday citizens sets him apart. He noted that his record of performance as governor of Rivers State and his ongoing efforts as FCT Minister have strengthened his connection with the grassroots.
Wike maintained that Nigerians still appreciate his leadership style and would “vote massively” for him if he enters the presidential race.
The minister also expressed confidence in his political structure in the nation’s capital, asserting that his loyalists would prevail again even if the recently concluded area council elections in the FCT were to be conducted afresh.
