Hoodlums have attacked and looted trailers conveying cartons of spaghetti at the Dogarawa axis of the Zaria-Kano expressway.
The trailer was heading for Abuja from Kaduna when the thugs blocked the road and made burnfires on the highway.
An eyewitness explained that the incident occurred around 3.15pm on Friday, March 1, after the driver of the truck parked by the roadside to observe prayer.
After the driver parked, the hoodlums started carting away cartons of spaghetti. The eyewitness described the incident as unfortunate and regrettable, adding that such an incident had never occurred since he began doing business in the area.
He said, “Not a single cartoon of the spaghetti was left by the hoodlums on the truck.” It was learnt that a police team deployed to the scene of the incident arrested five suspects.
This is coming barely one week after hoodlums hijacked trailers loaded with foodstuffs in the Suleja area of Niger State, stealing bags of rice and other food items.
