Veteran Nollywood Mustapha Bakare Otolo has said that Nollywood star Ibrahim Chatta is the highest paid in the movie industry. Chatta is presently making headlines online after the report of his alleged earnings surfaced on social media.

Speaking in a viral clip, Otolo declared that if Ibrahim is seen in any film, he has received N5M to feature in it.

According to him, while veteran actors like himself charge as low as N250,000, Chatta’s value is five whopping million at least.

He stated that the talented moviestar currently receives the highest money per movie in the entire Nollywood Yoruba industry.

“If Ibrahim Chatta appears on a movie set, he has been paid N5 million.

That’s the amount he currently charges.

He is the highest paid actor presently. So, my point is that he can do up to 20 jobs in a month. I brought him to my movie, ‘Jigi’ set in Ogbomoso recently,” he said.

On why it is hard for veteran actors to produce cinema movies, Otolo noted that the little they get for featuring in movies makes it difficult to fund such films.

He concluded by saying that, despite the low amount they charge per movie, veteran stars still get fewer jobs compared to younger actors who ask for more.

“You can’t compare him and other young actors to some of us that are being paid between N250,000 – N300,000 and appear in just one or two films in a month.

So, that is the reason it’s difficult for some of us the veterans to produce cinema movies,” he added.
