Actress Ini Edo has caused a stir among her fans after seemingly announcing her marriage.
Taking to her Instagram page on Sunday, she shared a post featuring a picture while leading many to believe that she was planning to tie the knot.
In her post, Ini Edo wrote, “That bright Sunday morning 6 months ago while on vacation, we crossed paths and our lives never remained the same. Exactly 3 months later you asked me to be with you forever. How did I get so lucky?
“They say ‘Your flaws are perfect for the heart that is meant to love you,’ and I now believe this wholeheartedly. 1 of 3 done. My fairytale wedding is almost here.”
Fellow actress Carolyna Hutchings added fuel to the speculation by reposting the announcement.
She wrote, “A very big congratulations to my darling sister Ini Edo… the fairytale wedding of the century. Glad to be a part of this and by your side. Shut down 20/10/2024… get your dancing shoes and asoebi ready.”
However, unknown to many who flooded the comment section with congratulations, the post was not about her real-life wedding.
Instead, it was a clever promotional stunt for her upcoming project, My Fairytale Wedding, a new series set to premiere this year.
According to MultiChoice which announced the project during Mip Africa earlier this month, My Fairytale Wedding is the first film in a planned trilogy.
The romantic comedy will feature Ini Edo and other stars like Ramsey Nouah, Carolyna Hutchings, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Daniel Etim, Mercy Eke, and Uzor Arukwe.
Directed by Dimeji Ajibola and produced by ChiChi Nworah, the film explores the unique experiences of modern African women.
The story revolves around a 29-year-old woman who, in her desperate search for love, turns to ‘kayanmata’—a mystical love potion from a wealthy seller.
