Nigerian businessman, Isaac Fayose, has criticised his elder brother and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, over his recent allegation that the Oyo State Government and Governor Seyi Makinde were behind the abduction of 46 pupils and teachers in the state.
Naija News reports that Ayodele Fayose made the controversial claim during an interview on Channels Television, suggesting the incident was politically motivated and aimed at blackmailing President Bola Tinubu. He also argued that state governments receive security votes and should take primary responsibility for local security challenges.
Reacting in a video shared on his social media page, Isaac Fayose described the allegation as unfair and disappointing. He questioned why similar conclusions were not drawn when kidnappings occurred in other states, including those governed by the APC such as Borno, Niger, and Kwara.
Isaac also pointed out that abductions have been recorded in Ekiti State under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, asking why no similar political blame was assigned in those cases.
He further urged his brother to avoid making what he described as unhelpful political statements, stressing that the country’s worsening insecurity should be addressed with more responsibility rather than accusations.
