La Liga president, Javier Tebas has blasted Real Madrid’s threatening behaviour ahead of the Copa del Rey final today.

Recall that the club recently cancelled their press conference/training session ahead of the clash after their request for La Liga to change the refereeing team was denied.

The request was made after La Liga referee, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, shed tears during his press conference as he spoke about how his son got bullied in school after Real Madrid TV accused him of bias towards Barcelona during matches.

The shocking scrapping of their training session and press conference immediately led to conclusions that the European champions are set to boycott the Copa del Rey final, and Javier Tebas has come out to slam club president, Florentino Perez, for his club’s self-victimisation tactics ahead of the important final.

According to him, such actions only go to show that Perez wants to dominate football rather than aid its improvement, and the only reason the Real Madrid president doesn’t like most decision-makers in Spain is because they constantly fail to grant his wishes.

Reacting via his social media page, Tebas revealed that Florentino even dislikes La Liga commentators who speak on TV because they do not say what he wants to hear, and that is the reason he goes as far as cancelling press conferences, shutting down training sessions, and skipping Ballon dOr ceremonies when things do not go his way.

Tebas said that Perez was always going to reject the reforms that have been worked on to improve football in Spain since he is the only one who wants to be in control of the game, and no one else.

“He doesn’t like Tebas because he doesn’t act according to his wishes. He doesn’t like Ceferin because he doesn’t listen to him. He doesn’t like Louzan because he is not under his influence. He doesn’t like the commentators on TV because they don’t say what he wants to hear.

He didn’t accept the reforms because they don’t suit him. Now, after the referees have reacted—after constant harassment from Real Madrid TV—he reacts by cancelling press conferences, skipping training, spitting on the competition, and refusing to attend the final. He doesn’t complain, he threatens. He doesn’t protest, he punishes. He doesn’t want to improve football, he wants to own it.

The worst part isn’t that he wants to own football—it’s that certain circles allow it, normalise it, and even help him,” it read.

Real Madrid have since confirmed that they will play the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on Saturday evening, but this decision might only back claim that the recent drama was all a ploy to pressure La Liga to do their bidding, while also further antagonising the official and refereeing committee ahead of the crucial match.
