Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, a prominent Anambra-born businessman and owner of Jezco Oil Nigeria Limited and Jezco Plastic, has reportedly been kidnapped.
Ezeokafor, who is the father of popular Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Joseph Ezeokafor Jnr, better known as Jowi Zaza, was allegedly abducted in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to reports, the businessman was kidnapped while on his way to a prayer mountain at Iffite Awka, where he had gone for prayers.
Sources said Ezeokafor arrived at the foot of the mountain with his security personnel but reportedly proceeded alone to the prayer ground.
The kidnappers were said to have been operating around the area and allegedly seized the opportunity to abduct him as he made his way to the prayer site.
The incident has reportedly triggered efforts by the Anambra State Government and security agencies to secure his safe release.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo and relevant security authorities are said to be coordinating efforts to locate the businessman and ensure that he returns home safely.
Chief Joseph Ezeokafor is a well-known figure in Anambra’s business community and is associated with Jezco Oil Nigeria Limited and Jezco Plastic.
His son, Jowi Zaza, is also a prominent Nigerian businessman and philanthropist known for his activities in the oil and gas sector.
Authorities have not yet publicly provided detailed information on the circumstances surrounding the reported abduction or whether any contact has been established with the kidnappers.
