The Lagos State Police Command has officially welcomed its new Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Abimbola Adebisi, who began her duties on Monday following her deployment by Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun.
Adebisi takes over from Benjamin Hundeyin, who has been reassigned to serve as Force Public Relations Officer at the police headquarters in Abuja. The transition was announced by Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi in an official statement.
The new spokesperson brings extensive academic credentials to her role, holding a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education in Ogun State, plus a postgraduate diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. She has furthered her education with a Master of Arts in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria.
Her professional qualifications are equally impressive, including specialised training in child protection from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Ghana, certifications in human rights, psychology, and conflict management, and completion of the Advanced Detective Course at Police Staff College, Jos. She is also an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
Adebisi maintains active membership in several international professional organisations, including the International Public Relations Association, the International Association of Women Police, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Throughout her career, she has held significant positions, including Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police for Operations and Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police at the Special Protection Unit. Most recently, she served as Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the Special Protection Unit in Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The command has expressed confidence in Adebisi’s ability to enhance police-community relationships in Lagos State, building on existing partnerships between law enforcement and residents in alignment with the Inspector-General’s vision.
