A container-laden truck overturned Wednesday morning on Otedola Bridge along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, causing severe gridlock for commuters heading into Lagos.
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officials say the incident happened around 7:00 a.m., with the truck — hauling two 20-foot containers — toppling over and blocking nearly the entire roadway. Only a single lane has been left passable, bringing traffic in the area to a near standstill.
LASTMA officers have been deployed to the scene to direct traffic and assist affected road users, while a recovery vehicle works to remove the overturned truck and restore normal flow. Commuters are strongly urged to seek alternative routes until the road is fully cleared.
