The launch of “Making Movies The Nollywood Way,” the latest book by popular filmmaker and Best of Nollywood Awards founder, Seun Oloketuyi, is set to attract prominent figures in Lagos State.
Recall that the unveiling will hold on the 7th of September, 2025, at the University of Lagos.
Among the dignitaries expected to show up are Muiz Banire, SAN, respected lawyer and former Lagos State commissioner; Honourable Moji Ojora Meranda, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Honourable Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources; and Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abisoye Fagade Dg NIHOTOUR, and immediate past Bariga Local Government chairman, Mr Kola Alabi.
Their presence will not just signify support for an amazing literary effort, it’ll also serve as an endorsement of Nollywood’s cultural and economic relevance.
Written to provide a deep dive into the happenings in the Nigerian film industry, Seun Oloketuyi’s book blends his reflections with the experiences of 21 respected Nollywood figures, including Ọpa Williams, Wale Adenuga, and Emem Isong, who detail their professional struggles and successes.
Speaking on the upcoming launch, Seun revealed that the book will educate and inspire readers, while preserving the special Nollywood filmmaking process.
“This book is not just about film; it’s about telling our stories, our struggles, and our successes in a way that resonates with both practitioners and lovers of cinema,” he said.
The gathering will feature a public reading, talk session, and interactions between Nollywood greats and UNILAG students.
The event will serve as an engaging platform to pass knowledge from accomplished industry players to aspiring producers.
With heavyweights like Benson-Awoyinka, Ojora, Wahab and Banire set to attend, the unveiling is definitely shaping up to be an event to remember for Nollywood fans.
