Popular singer T-Pain has opened up about life as an artist in the United States of America. He recently shared what he has learned throughout his 20 years in the music industry.
Speaking during a Club Shay Shay interview, the 41-year-old revealed that he has been in the industry long enough to know that no one is genuinely your brother.
According to him, the people in the music space will only pretend to be your family when they want to use you, but as soon as they get what they want, it’s all over.
The “Stoicville” crooner stated that he learned his lesson after seeing all kinds of betrayals over the years.
“Nobody is your brother.
Nobody is your brother. Everybody’s your brother while they can use you. That is the quickest and the most consistent thing that I’ve learned through this whole thing,” he said.
T-Pain further noted that DJ Khaled once told him to consider him a brother, only to let him down when push came to shove.
The lyricist concluded by saying that his stance is nothing new because it has become a regular habit among several people in the music industry.
“Anytime you need me, I’m here for you. Anytime you need me. But nah, bro. It’s that brother s—, nobody is your brother. I’ve had DJ Khaled and everybody done told me, ‘I’m your brother,’ Do not believe that s—.
It’s very apparent. DJ Khaled knows how to move. He knows how to do things with different people.
It’s not a DJ Khaled type of thing. That’s just the first person I can think of,” he added.
