Nigerian billionaire entrepreneur and hospitality mogul Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has publicly dismissed reports linking him to a political appointment within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The speculation, which spread rapidly across social media and online news platforms, alleged that the businessman had been brought into the ruling party through Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The claims sparked widespread debate among Nigerians about the implications of such a political alignment.
A Clear Rejection
Breaking his silence on the matter, Obi Cubana took to social media to set the record straight. He categorically denied any involvement in partisan politics and revealed where his priorities currently lie.
“The Most Important Assignment For Me Right Now Is Winning Souls For Christ,” the businessman declared.
His statement has been interpreted as a definitive rejection of the rumored APC role. Instead of pursuing political influence, Obi Cubana appears to be channeling his energy toward spiritual endeavors and faith-based activities. In recent months, he has frequently shared Christian-themed content, signaling a shift toward religious commitment.
Political Silence
Neither Seyi Tinubu nor APC officials have commented on the allegations. However, Obi Cubana’s public clarification has largely quelled the speculation. Many of his followers have praised him for addressing the issue directly and maintaining his principles.
Who Is Obi Cubana?
Obinna Iyiegbu is a Nigerian businessman, investor, and philanthropist who chairs the Cubana Group—a diversified enterprise with ventures in hospitality, nightlife, entertainment, and real estate.
He gained national recognition through strategic investments in upscale nightlife venues across Nigeria’s major cities. His profile soared in 2021 following his mother’s lavish burial ceremony, which highlighted his considerable wealth, influence, and extensive network.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Obi Cubana is recognized for youth empowerment initiatives, business mentorship, and charitable work that supports economic inclusion and community development.
His latest statement reinforces his image as someone driven by personal conviction rather than external pressures—a figure whose decisions, whether in business, faith, or public life, continue to influence national discourse.
