First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has extended heartfelt appreciation to mothers across Nigeria and around the world as part of the 2026 Mother’s Day celebrations.
In a statement on Sunday, Mrs. Tinubu acknowledged the vital role mothers play in nurturing families and supporting their children.
“Today, I honour and celebrate every mother across Nigeria. Your love, care, and sacrifices do not go unnoticed,” she said.
She emphasized that it is often the small, everyday acts of care that truly define a mother’s love. “Beyond the big sacrifices, it is the quiet, daily moments that shape family life. On this day, we carry those moments in our hearts and say thank you for the warmth and love you give,” she added.
The First Lady encouraged mothers to continue guiding their children and imparting values that will benefit future generations.
“I implore our mothers to continue teaching and mentoring our children, passing down wisdom and strength that will shape a better future,” she said.
Mrs. Tinubu also offered prayers for mothers and families, hoping that they would witness the fruits of their dedication reflected in the lives of their children and generations to come.
Mother’s Day, celebrated in many countries worldwide, recognizes the contributions of mothers and the importance of motherhood. While the date varies across nations, it is most commonly observed in March or May.
