Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reignited his social media clash with Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo following Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the Osun State governorship election.
Davido took to Instagram after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Ademola Adeleke the winner of the election held on Saturday, August 15.
The singer tagged Okpebholo in a post and appeared to challenge him to another round of their ongoing exchange.
Davido wrote: “@he_mondayokpebholo get ready, my brother! Make I sleep first. Nah me and you tomorrow.”
The latest post comes days after Davido and Okpebholo traded words ahead of the Osun election.
Okpebholo had criticised Adeleke’s conduct at official functions, particularly his tendency to dance, and urged Osun voters not to return him to office.
The Edo governor had argued that Adeleke’s dancing at official events showed that he was not sufficiently focused on governance.
He also urged voters to collect any money offered to them during the election but vote according to their conscience.
Davido subsequently hit back at Okpebholo, mocking his academic qualifications during their social media exchange.
With Adeleke now declared winner of the Osun governorship election, Davido’s latest message suggests that the singer intends to continue his public back-and-forth with the Edo governor.
