The Governor of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) in Lagos, Her Excellency Queen Ara Olamuyiwa, recently paid a groundbreaking visit to Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture in Lagos State. This visit marked Queen Ara’s first since assuming the role of PMAN Governor in Lagos and set the stage for a promising partnership.
During the meeting, Queen Ara conveyed her mission to explore avenues for collaboration between PMAN Lagos and the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture. The Commissioner warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing her commitment to supporting and collaborating with PMAN to enhance the entertainment scene in the renowned “City of Excellence.”

Commissioner Benson-Awoyinka, acknowledging her shared connection with the music industry through her association with Bobby Benson, expressed her enthusiasm for the proposed collaboration. She stated, “I am pleased to have you in the ministry, and as you can see, I am a member of the family. I fully understand where you are coming from, but would like to finalize collaborations. I am ready to work with you as a female governor to achieve your set agenda in the Lagos PMAN.”
Additionally, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka affirmed her satisfaction with PMAN’s interest in collaboration, assuring that the Ministry would actively participate and not fall short in supporting the set agenda. She emphasized the need to ensure a thorough and comprehensive approach to collaborations.
In response, Governor Ara Olamuyiwa reiterated PMAN’s readiness and willingness to collaborate not only with the Ministry but also with the Lagos State Government. The shared goal is to solidify Lagos’s position as the leading entertainment hub on the African continent.
Surprisingly, the Commissioner extended the Ministry’s commitment to participate in the “FEMALE DRUMMERS FESTIVAL,” an event organized by Governor Ara Olamuyiwa, scheduled for December 17th at the Nike Art Gallery. This unexpected commitment reflects the growing enthusiasm for joint initiatives between PMAN Lagos and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
