President Bola Ahmed Tinubu momentarily lost his footing while ascending stairs during an official reception in Turkey on Sunday, according to footage circulating on social media.
The incident occurred as the president arrived in Turkey for what marks another international engagement, coming just days after his return from a previous overseas trip.
Video footage shows the president approaching a set of stairs before briefly stumbling, with aides quickly moving to assist him. He appeared to recover and continue with the scheduled program.
Similar incidents have occurred previously during Tinubu’s presidency, including occasions during the early months of his administration and at a Democracy Day ceremony.
The presidency has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
