President Bola Tinubu’s horse, “Renewed Hope,” clinched victory at the “Hope Renewed 1st Year Anniversary Horse Racing Derby,” which concluded in Kaduna on Saturday.
The prestigious event was attended by the Life Patron of the Horse Racing Federation of Nigeria (HRFN) and the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the four-day sporting event began on Thursday and was organized by HRFN. “Renewed Hope” won the ‘Division 1 ThoroughBreed,’ a 10-furlong (2,000 meters) race.
For its victory, the horse earned a saloon car, a cup, and ₦100,000 in prize money. The second place was secured by a horse named “Sarauinya,” which received ₦1 million. “Holiday Parade” took third place, winning ₦700,000, and “Nawal” finished fourth with a ₦500,000 prize.
The closing ceremony also saw attendance from the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Ilyasu Bashar, represented by the Sarkin Borgun Ka’oje, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani-Anaje, and the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, among others.
The event was efficiently coordinated by the President of the HRFN, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar-Bida, known as the ‘Sarkin Dawakin Nupe.’
