The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially released the list of successful applicants recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables following the completion of its nationwide recruitment exercise.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu.
According to the PSC, the recruitment process was conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee. The Commission described the exercise as comprehensive, transparent, inclusive, and equitable.
The Commission advised all candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination to visit the official recruitment portal to confirm their application status. The portal becomes accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
In addition to checking the portal, successful applicants will receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers they provided during the application process.
The PSC explained that candidates who are successful in the recruitment exercise will be assigned to designated Police Training Institutions. Details of their reporting dates and times will be communicated later.
Before commencing training, successful applicants will undergo medical examinations and documentation. The Commission warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be regarded as having declined the offer.
It further stated that applicants who do not pass the medical examination to be conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption at the training schools would be declared medically unfit and required to withdraw from the programme.
The Commission also directed all successful candidates to report with their training call-up slips, National Identification Number (NIN) slips, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slips, original copies and photocopies of their educational certificates, as well as other required documents and items that will be specified on the recruitment portal.
Speaking on the recruitment exercise, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables.
He noted that the recruitment is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture and improve policing across the country.
Argungu urged the successful candidates to regard their appointment as an opportunity to serve the nation with dedication, professionalism, integrity, and commitment, emphasizing the need for them to contribute meaningfully to ensuring a safer and more secure Nigeria.
