Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has described the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in the state as “embarrassing” for the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing the need for total victory in the 2027 polls.
Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, at the Annual Lagos APC Ramadan Public Lecture in Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu urged party members to start preparations for next year’s general elections. He emphasized the importance of voter registration and active participation to secure a decisive win for the party.
He said: “Don’t let things be like the last time; we all must get our PVCs. What happened the last time was not good enough, and we are still ashamed of it. We must equip ourselves with our Personal Voter Cards ahead of the next year’s elections.”
Sanwo-Olu highlighted that sustaining the achievements of the current federal administration would depend on ensuring President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Also addressing attendees, Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, through Mr. Muyideen Daromola, encouraged Muslim faithful to uphold the values nurtured during Ramadan.
