Second Republic Minister, Buhari’s Cabal Member Malam Isa Funtua is Dead

Renowned Industrialist and Chairman, Bulet International Construction Company, Malam Ismaila Isa Funtua, has died at the age of 77, Apple’s Bite Magazine has learnt.

According to multiple sources, Isa Funtua died Monday of cardiac arrest on Monday evening.

Isa Funtua is President Buhari's age long friend, he is also an in-law of the president, his son, his son Abubakar is married to Buhari’s daughter, Safinat.

Between 1979 and 1983, a phase in Nigeria’s history known as the second republic, Funtua served the country as Minister of Water Resources under the Alhaji Sheu Shagari regime.

Funtua is Founding managing director of Democrat Newspaper and a life patron of Newspaper’s Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN.

Funtua is touted to be a member of the ‘cabal’, a group of influential persons around Nigeria’s President said to help him take key decisions.

He will be buried according to Islamic rites Tuesday.
