Nigerian singer Shallipopi has spoken out about the harsh treatment he claims to have received from colleagues in the music industry during the early stages of his career.
Reflecting on his journey between 2023 and 2024, the fast-rising artiste said breaking into the scene was far from easy, alleging that several fellow musicians treated him unfairly while he was still trying to establish himself.
In a post shared on his social media page, Shallipopi recounted how he was denied the support and acceptance he had expected, noting that the experience significantly shaped his personality and how he now interacts with others.
According to him, the lack of encouragement and negative encounters left a lasting impact. He wrote that many artistes disrespected him during that period, adding that those experiences contributed to his current tough stance toward people.
Shallipopi gained widespread recognition after his hit single Elon Musk went viral, earning him significant attention across multiple platforms.
Meanwhile, the singer has also responded to criticism from popular social commentator Daniel Regha over his latest album, Auracle. Regha had faulted the project, claiming it lacked lyrical depth, creativity, and substance, despite having commendable beats.
