The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has reiterated its readiness to drive innovation and digital transformation across its operations.
This is coming after its impressive performance at the 2024 Federal Public Service Innovation Competition.
The competition, organised by OHCSF, received 155 entries from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the country, but NDIC still managed to finish as both the overall winner and 3rd-place finalist, securing the gold and bronze prizes, respectively.
Speaking via a press statement, NDIC’s Acting Head of Communication and Public Affairs, Hawwau Gambo, revealed that the corporation’s achievement proves its relentless commitment to deploying tech to improve service delivery and the productivity of its workers.
Also having his say after the competition’s award ceremony that was recently held in Abuja, NDIC Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mr. Bello Hassan, noted that the dual recognition shows how innovation and professionalism will never be taken for granted at the agency.
Highlighting NDIC’s goal to integrate digital innovation into public service delivery, he said that the winning teams deserve commendation for reaffirming the corporation’s pacesetting strides when it comes to tech deployment and critical thinking to end real-world problems.
According to him, both successes at the competition are further proof of NDIC’s preparedness to aid digital transformation, cost-efficiency, and public service excellence across Nigeria.
The Managing Director then promised that the corporation will keep backing technology-driven solutions that enhance civil service delivery, while contributing to the developmental targets at national level.
“Our teams have once again demonstrated the Corporation’s leadership in deploying technology and creative thinking to solve real-world challenges,” he said.
NDIC’s first-place-winning team earned their victory by developing a digital rideshare app to aid the reduction of transportation costs for federal workers across Nigeria.
The application mainly helps the workers to coordinate ride-sharing in real-time, crucially offering a price-effective and eco-friendly transportation alternative.
