Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said that his government would make sure local government areas in the state are reopened.

Recall that activities in local government areas in the state have been stopped since February 17, following a power tussle involving the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress regarding the control of the council areas.

Speaking in Osogbo, Osun State, during a reception organised in his honour by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party at the party’s State Secretary, Adeleke revealed that he is currently facing strong forces that can be likened to Pharaoh in the bible.

According to him, however, regardless of the present challenges, Osun residents can rest assured that the local government will be back up and running very soon.

He stated that his detractors will never succeed with their plan to hold Osun State back.

“We will get our local government back and running. They want to hold Osun down. They are shocked with our delivery and transformation of Osun; They want to keep Osun from developing.

Will you allow them Great members of PDP and good people of Osun state, should we go to the past again? Should we return to bad governance again?

We must sustain good governance. We must sustain the tempo. The good work must continue. Osun people are with us. God is with us. We shall overcome the Pharaohs facing us. We will get our local government back and running. They want to hold Osun down,” he said.

Governor Adeleke further noted that some people are still shocked over what his government has been able to achieve in such a short period of time.

He concluded by saying that nobody will stop him from transforming Osun state like he promised the people.

“They are shocked with our delivery and transformation of Osun; They want to keep Osun from developing. Will you allow them?” he added.
