President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, following the passing of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who died in Cairo, Egypt, after a brief illness.
In a message of sympathy, the President described the loss as a deeply painful moment not only for the El-Rufai family but also for all who were touched by the late matriarch’s life and values. He acknowledged the significant role mothers play in shaping individuals and communities, noting that Hajiya Umma’s legacy would continue to live on through her children and those she impacted during her lifetime.
President Tinubu urged Mallam El-Rufai and the entire family to find strength and comfort in the cherished memories they shared with the deceased, as well as in the support of friends, associates, and well-wishers during this period of mourning.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of Hajiya Umma’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannah Firdaus. The President further prayed that God would grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Hajiya Umma reportedly passed away in Cairo after a brief illness, leaving behind children, grandchildren, and a legacy of devotion to family and faith. Her death has drawn condolences from political leaders, associates, and members of the public across the country.
