President Bola Tinubu has expressed his sympathies to Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi following the loss of his father, Mr. Sunday Ndidi.
The condolence message was released through a statement by Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday in Abuja.
The Nigerian international, currently playing for Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas, lost his father in a road accident near Agbor, Delta State, on Tuesday. The incident occurred in Umunede.
In his message to the Ndidi family, President Tinubu characterized the death as both tragic and profoundly sorrowful.
“The loss of Sunday Ndidi is deeply tragic and fills me with sorrow. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time, especially Wilfred, who enjoyed a close relationship with his father as both mentor and guide,” the President stated.
Tinubu highlighted the late Mr. Ndidi’s character and the positive influence he had on those around him.
“Sunday Ndidi’s humble origins and integrity made a meaningful impact on all who knew him and drew inspiration from his example,” the President remarked.
He concluded by offering prayers for divine comfort for the bereaved family and eternal rest for the deceased.
