Donald J. Trump announced that the United States and Iran have engaged in productive discussions over the past two days, aimed at achieving a complete resolution to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
He stated that, based on the positive tone and progress of these detailed and constructive talks—which are expected to continue throughout the week—he has directed the Department of Defense to temporarily suspend any planned military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy facilities for a period of five days.
This pause is intended to support the success of ongoing negotiations and diplomatic efforts.
