Manchester United defender, Noussair Mazraoui has delivered his candid assessment of his debut season in England.
He recently revealed that his first season with the Red Devils has definitely been a painful experience thus far.
Speaking during an interview with the press, Mazraoui revealed that he is surely hurt to be losing too many games in his first campaign, especially because he rarely lost games at his former clubs.
The Moroccan RB said that he is not used to defeats and will never get used to losing matches, so it is always a sad moment when the referee blows the full-time whistle and MUFC did not win or draw the game.
“Am I hurting? Of course, I am. I come from clubs where I’m not used to losing, I will never get used to losing wherever I am as well as here. It’s a painful moment but life is sometimes painful and you just have to go through it,” he said.
Mazraoui believes that even winning the UEFA Europa League would not mask the failures and disappointments of this season.
According to him, if MUFC beats Tottenham Hotspur to win the UEL title in Bilbao, that would only mean the Europa League was a good season, but it won’t change the fact that the EPL campaign was a clear disaster.
The African defender maintained that because the EPL matches happen weekly, most fans are not wrong to use it when it comes to judging how quickly their team is progressing or regressing.
“The Europa League season will be a success, the PL season will still not be a success. Those are the facts. At the end you pay a price.
There are both sides. There are a lot of competition you play in, in PL you play week in, week out so eventually people will set their opinion more according to the Premier League,” he added.
