Nigerian music heavyweights Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, and Ahmed Ololade, professionally called Asake, have unleashed their latest collaboration “Jogodo,” which dropped on January 16th. The single serves as the lead track from their upcoming collaborative project, ‘REAL, Vol. 1’, scheduled for release on January 23rd.
The forthcoming EP will contain four songs: “Turbulence”, “Jogodo”, “Iskolodo”, and “Alaye”. The artists have indicated that the project will combine their distinctive street-influenced sound with broader commercial appeal. Though this represents their first joint EP, the duo has previously worked together on popular tracks including “MMS” and “Bad Girl”.
“Jogodo” achieved remarkable commercial success immediately after its release, claiming the top position on Spotify Nigeria with 1.388 million first-day streams—establishing a new national benchmark for collaborative releases. The song simultaneously dominated streaming platforms across Nigeria, securing the No. 1 spot on Apple Music Nigeria, YouTube, Audiomack, and Deezer, demonstrating the significant market influence of this musical partnership.
