The eagerly anticipated Third Edition of the Zenith Tech Fair, aptly named “Future Forward 3.0,” is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 22, and Thursday, November 23, at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event, running from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, promises to showcase cutting-edge technological innovations spanning various aspects of life, including Artificial Intelligence, Contactless Payments, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, FinTech, Data Analytics, Financial Intelligence, and communication technologies.
This two-day fair is set to feature pitch sessions aimed at identifying innovative startups, panel discussions, masterclasses, and exhibitions. Among the highlights, the event will commence with a welcome address by Jim Ovia, CFR, Founder, and Chairman of Zenith Bank, followed by opening remarks from Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc and Chairman, Body of Banks’ CEOs, Nigeria, and Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc.
Distinguished guests include the Honourable Minister of Communication, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and a presentation by Dr. Doris Anite, Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment, among others. The keynote address, titled “Artificial Intelligence – Application & Bias,” will be delivered by Chris Lu, a renowned IT Specialist, business strategist, and Managing Director for Huawei Technologies, Nigeria. Presentations by other prominent IT practitioners representing top global brands will follow, contributing to the depth and diversity of insights.
Additionally, two panel discussions will explore growth prospects for digital payments technology in an ever-evolving financial landscape. The first panel, hosted by Chris Lu, will examine “The next frontier: Digital Wallets, Contactless payments, and BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later),” featuring discussants from Palmpay, NIBSS, Verve, MasterCard, and Network International. The second panel, hosted by John Obidi, will explore “The intersection of Fintech, eCommerce, and SMEs – Collaboration for growth,” with participants from Konga, Lydia, Meta, SystemSpecs, and Bland2Glam.
The Zenith Tech Fair, known for its impactful hackathons, has been a pivotal platform in fostering technological innovation. The first edition, held in 2019, featured a hackathon that produced ten winners, with Octave Analytics Limited securing the grand prize of N10 million. The second edition in 2022 continued this tradition, awarding N20 million to the first-place winner, Ecotutu, a cleantech company making cooling affordable and accessible for businesses.
