Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise, which took place across the 57 wards in Kogi Central Senatorial District, saw a large turnout of party members and supporters who participated in a simultaneous affirmation process held on Wednesday.
The collation of results was completed at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered to finalize the outcome.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (Independent National Electoral Commission) and journalists were present across the wards and at the collation centre to observe the process and ensure it complied with electoral guidelines.
Speaking after her emergence, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation to party members, describing the widespread support as a strong vote of confidence in her leadership and vision.
She said the turnout across the district reflected the people’s commitment to unity, democratic participation, and development, adding that the exercise demonstrated a shared resolve to strengthen the party in the area.
The senator also pledged to continue representing the interests of her constituents while maintaining close engagement with communities across the senatorial district.
Some supporters at the collation centre described the process as a clear show of unity within the PDP and optimism about the party’s chances in Kogi Central ahead of 2027.
