Precious Eze, publisher of ‘’News Platform NG’’, Nigeria’s frontline news website, has issued a formal retraction regarding previously published reports about Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO).
News Platform NG hereby retracts its earlier publication dated September 19, 2024, with the title ‘’GTBank Faces Internal Crisis As EFCC, FIRS Investigate Alleged False Profit Declaration.
The unverified publication made by us has been found to be false, misleading, and without justification or an iota of truth in its contents.
‘’News Platform NG’’ has since found that GTCO’s quarterly financial report was duly audited, approved, and certified by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN and other banking and financial institutions’ regulatory bodies.
‘’News Platform NG’ regrets the misinformation and asks that the general public discountenance our said earlier report.
“We have since issued a formal apology to GTCO and its management and staff,” Eze stated.
The retraction comes amid growing concerns about the impact of unverified information in financial reporting on market confidence and corporate reputations.
