Popular singer, Davido has revealed that his father recently gifted him $300K for a job well done after watching him perform on stage.
Speaking during a new interview on Clue Radio, David Adeleke said that his billionaire dad, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, was so pleased with his performance at his State Farm Arena concert in Atlanta that it earned him a huge cash gift.
According to him, however, it was not a surprise to see that happen because while he has worked super hard to build his own wealth over the years, his father still gives him money from time to time. “If I tell you that my dad doesn’t give his kids money, I will be lying to you,” he said.
Davido maintained that his dad is aware that the money he makes from music is enough to take care of him and his family, but he still tries to fulfil his responsibilities as a father once in a while.
During the same interview, David shared that he was a co-producer on a few songs on his upcoming album titled “5ive,” a project that is set to feature Afrobeats superstars like Chike, Omah Lay, OdumoduBlvck and Victony. The album will also feature international acts like YG Marley, Chris Brown, Shensea, 450, Victoria Monet, Musa Keys, Dadju, Tay C and Becky G, as the 30BG crooner attempts to cater to multiple markets to reflect his status as a global star.
The singer has already shared the tracklist for his upcoming album, which is scheduled to be released on the 18th of April 18, and he has since dropped 3 fire singles in anticipation of his forthcoming project.

While Davido is being intentional about serenading his foreign audience with his next album, the singer has always made it clear that he’ll always prioritise his African fans. Speaking during a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, he said, “I always tell artists, Always have that home love first. Then, you could take over the world.”
