FG Targets 12-Month Timeline for Ijebu-Ode Dry Port to Ease Seaport Congestion By newsheadline247 - April 16, 2026 34 Share Advertisement Discover more Politics The Federal Government has set a 12-month timeline to advance the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port project, aiming to ease seaport congestion and boost Nigeria’s trade logistics Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port: FG Targets 12-Month Timeline to Decongest Seaports Nigeria’s push to modernise its maritime logistics has gained fresh momentum as the federal government targets a 12-month timeline to advance the proposed Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port. At a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Abeokuta, convened by the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, government agencies and industry players reviewed and validated consultancy reports expected to shape the project’s rollout—positioning the inland port as a key node in Nigeria’s logistics network. Representing the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Fatima Sugra Tabi’a Mahmood, described the maritime sector as central to economic growth and global trade competitiveness. She emphasised that unlocking its full potential requires reforms grounded in data and real industry experience. According to the minister, the exercise goes beyond routine review. Advertisement “not merely a presentation exercise but a genuine collaborative validation process designed to enrich the technical reports with the practical, institutional knowledge of operators within the sector.” He added that the approach is designed to ensure the project is realistic, implementable, and aligned with existing regulatory frameworks. “By harmonising the perspectives of all key institutions, we aim to foster a shared understanding of the project’s strategic direction.” Oyetola said early stakeholder engagement would help identify risks, improve transparency, and build sector-wide ownership—critical factors for execution in Nigeria’s complex maritime landscape. He confirmed that consultancy work is expected to be completed within 12 months and called for stronger collaboration among agencies and technical partners to meet the deadline. __READ ALSO__ ‘No Ambush’: Morayo Afolabi-Brown Defends Ireti Doyle Interview, Calls Nigerians ‘Battle-Ready’ Powered by Inline Related Posts The minister also acknowledged the Ogun State Government’s role, particularly the provision of land for the project, highlighting growing federal-state collaboration in infrastructure delivery. At the state level, Ogun reaffirmed its ambition to become a leading logistics and industrial hub, with the inland dry port expected to attract cargo traffic and investments. Speaking for Governor Dapo Abiodun, Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, said the project aligns with Ogun’s long-term economic vision. He described the port as a strategic asset that will deepen the state’s integration into national and regional supply chains. Earlier, Director of Maritime Services, Mr. Meshack Adeola Oyinloye, linked the initiative to national and continental frameworks, including the National Transport Policy, Nigerian Ports Masterplan, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). He noted that the inland dry port would ease congestion at seaports while improving trade efficiency. The meeting drew participation from key stakeholders, including the Nigerian Ports Authority, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Ogun State Government, and consultants Dewlands International Company Limited—underscoring a coordinated, multi-agency approach to maritime infrastructure development.

The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC) Worldwide has officially announced plans for the 56th Mount Horeb Ascension Pilgrimage, a spiritual gathering scheduled to take place from May 4th to May 11th, 2025, at Galilee Land, Orile Igbon in Oyo State, Nigeria.

The announcement was made during a World Press Conference held at the prestigious Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, addressed by His Grace, Dr. Prophet Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, JP, FNACM, the Spiritual Head and Chairman of the Church, alongside Special Apostle Prophet Dr. Joel Olayinka Adeniran, JP, the Conference Supervising Prophet.

The week-long event, themed “Double Glory,” is expected to draw thousands of congregants from across the globe for what church leaders describe as a transformative spiritual retreat aimed at fostering divine encounters, communal worship, and spiritual rejuvenation. The 56th edition of this annual pilgrimage holds additional significance as it coincides with the first anniversary of Prophet Alogbo’s leadership as Spiritual Father and Spiritual Head of the church.

In his address to the press, His Grace Dr. Prophet Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo highlighted the dual importance of this year’s Mount Horeb pilgrimage, stating, “By the special grace of the Almighty God, this Mount Horeb pilgrimage of this year, bears double significance: not only does it mark yet another sacred ascent in our spiritual journey as a people, but it also coincides with the first anniversary of my stewardship as the Spiritual Father and Spiritual Head of this glorious movement church.”

Reflecting on his first year of leadership, Prophet Alogbo shared, “When, by divine ordination, I was entrusted with this sacred mantle, I made a covenant before God and before you — a covenant to lead with integrity, with transparency, and with inclusivity. Since that moment, every decision taken, every step made, has been guided by a sincere desire to uphold the spiritual, administrative, and communal values of our Church. I have sought not just to lead, but to listen; not just to direct, but to serve.”

The Spiritual Head further expressed satisfaction with the church’s growth under his leadership, noting, “To the glory of God, we have not tarried in the vineyard. The gospel fire has been rekindled across nations; new altars of worship have been raised in places where our voices were once silent. We have witnessed an unprecedented growth of our Church, not only in numbers but in spiritual depth and impact.”

Special Apostle Prophet Dr. Joel Olayinka Adeniran, in his address, emphasised the profound spiritual importance of the Mount Horeb gathering, describing it as “not just a location but an appointment with destiny! It is the mountain where the heavens kiss the earth, where prayers ascend like incense and miracles descend like rain.”

Quoting from Scripture, he added, “As the Psalmist declared, ‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.’ (Psalm 121:1-2).”

He described the forthcoming ascension as “prophetically loaded,” declaring it to be “not an ordinary gathering — it is a divine visitation.” He further elaborated on the spiritual expectations for the event, saying, “The Lord has spoken expressly that this 56th edition shall be a Mount Horeb of divine settlements and Double Glory. Long-standing battles will be terminated. Yokes will be broken. Captives shall be set free. The barren will sing for joy. The sick will leap in health. Those who have been delayed will overtake, and the rejected shall become the cornerstone.”

This year’s theme is “Double Glory”, and Prophet Alogbo explained that it “serves as an invitation to embrace the abundant blessings that God has in store for us. It is a clarion call for all of us to aim higher, to receive greater revelations, and to witness the extraordinary manifestations of the glory of God in our lives.” He encouraged participants to “approach with open hearts, ready to receive double portions of His blessings in every area of our lives — spiritually, physically, and emotionally.”

Echoing this sentiment, Special Apostle Adeniran proclaimed, “Hear me, people of God! This is the season of ‘Double Glory.'” Referencing John 14:12, he quoted, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” He then urged believers to “prepare your hearts, for the winds of revival are blowing, and they are heading straight for Mount Horeb!”

In a similar fashion, he issued a global call: “I call on the global family of the Cherubim and Seraphim, especially the CSMC Global Family and indeed all who seek a genuine encounter with the Almighty, to gather with holy expectations. Come fasting, come praying, come rejoicing, come believing — for Mount Horeb is set, and heaven is poised to pour out blessings that there shall not be room enough to receive!”

He elaborated, “Let it be known across the nations: from Lagos to London, from Accra to Atlanta, from Johannesburg to Jerusalem, the trumpet of Horeb is sounding! And it is calling you to ascend higher. Yes, higher in faith, higher in power, higher in holiness, higher in divine revelation.”
