Manchester United has wrapped up the signing of forward Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He recently signed a contract until June 2030, with the option of an additional year.
Speaking via a press statement, Cunha said that it is very difficult for him to explain the feeling of being a Manchester United player.
According to him, he watched a lot of English Premier League matches as a kid in Brazil, and MUFC has always been his favourite English team.
Sharing that he always dreamt of wearing a Manchester United jersey, the Brazilian forward confirmed that his signing is a dream come true.
“It is hard to put into words my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player.
Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favourite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt,” he said.
Cunha then appreciated everyone who helped to make his dream a reality, stressing that he cannot wait to link up with his new teammates.
Matheus concluded by saying that he is now concentrating on doing everything possible to get Manchester United back to where it belongs, the top.
“I want to thank my family and everyone who has helped me make that dream a reality.
I can’t wait for the start of preseason to get to know my teammates and prepare for the season ahead. All my focus is now on working hard to become a valuable part of the team, and helping get this club back to the top,” he added.
The former Wolves player scored 17 goals and registered six assists in all competitions last season.
He has been capped 15 times by Brazil, netting his first goal for his country against Argentina in March.
