The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has come out to advocate for partnership and cooperation among the airport authorities, security agencies, relevant agencies and passengers.
The agency recently revealed that such synergy will help prevent the regular security breaches in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
Speaking via a press statement, SC Oluwaseun Abolurin, Civil Defence PRO, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, disclosed that collaboration between key players in the sector will help to curb airport shenanigans like assault, battery, cyber attacks, congestion, robbery, bullying, hijack, terrorism and so on.

The Airport Unit of the Lagos State Command, today, Tuesday, 12th August, 2025 held its second (2nd) joint training programme, with the theme; “Enhancing Synergy Amongst Aviation Authorities and Security Agencies in Nigeria’s Airports: The role of NSCDC, Airport Authorities and Security Agencies,” at the Legend Hotel, Lagos Airport, MMIA, Ikeja.
3 lecture sessions were delivered by selected professionals, focusing on the themes below:
(i) Audits, Training and Compliance: NCAA’s Role in Promoting Joint Security Readiness facilitated by Mr Amasia Peter, General Manager AVSEC.
(ii) Security Alertness at Airport Facilities for Safer Travels, facilitated by Mr Anthony Idokogi, fsi, dgm, Chief of Office Security, MMIA, Ikeja.
(ii) Protection of Lagos Airport as a Critical National Asset of the Nation through Inter-Agency Collaboration.
The training, which was organized to provide solutions that will improve the peace and security at our airports, attracted participants from FAAN, NCAA, NSCDC, NDLEA, DSS, FRSC, NCS, Nigeria Police Force (NPF), NIS, AVSEC, Legend Hotel, Bi – Bi-Courtney, NAHCO, and many other relevant services and agencies.
Mr Keshinro Adedotun, the Lagos State Commandant, reiterated that the command will keep working tirelessly to enhance the safety of the Lagos Airports, particularly via its unwavering commitment to inter-agency partnership and professionalism.
Keshinro was represented at the event by Deputy Commandant of Corps Agbetiloye Kolawole, Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) Department of the Command.
