LAGOS, Nigeria – SC OO Abolurin, the Public Relations Officer for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has congratulated newly appointed CSP Benjamin Hundeyin and DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on their new appointments within the Nigeria Police Force.
The congratulatory message comes on the heels of a significant leadership transition at the Force Public Relations Department, where CSP Hundeyin officially took over as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) from DCP Adejobi.
In his warm felicitation, Abolurin referred to CSP Hundeyin as his “senior colleague, elder brother, and quality friend,” offering divine prayers for his new role: “Ar’anugba ooo, may we obtain mercy from the Lord Most High.”
He also paid a glowing tribute to the outgoing FPRO, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, whom he described as a “great PR mentor, courageous communicator par excellence, and benefactor.” He congratulated Adejobi for a “successful outing as FPRO during his indefatigable tenure of progress and victories for the NPF.”
The appointment of CSP Hundeyin was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun. The outgoing officer, DCP Adejobi, has been subsequently posted to the Delta State Police Command as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.
The new ForcePRO, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, brings a wealth of experience and academic pedigree to the role. He holds a BA (Hons) in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
His professional credentials include a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji. He is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
A seasoned officer, CSP Hundeyin’s career highlights include serving as the Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, and being part of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020. Until this new appointment, he was the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command.
The Inspector-General of Police has charged the new ForcePRO to leverage his extensive communications and security experience to bolster the Force’s public relations activities and ensure the continuous maintenance of positive relations with the Nigerian public.
The handover ceremony took place at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
