Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has come out to throw his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s government.
He recently revealed that the current administration is successfully driving a transformative agenda for Nigeria.
Speaking on Nollywood On Radio, Saidi said he does not understand the constant criticism levelled at the government.
According to him, because Tinubu is an old man who has made a lot of money during his lifetime, he is clearly thinking about leaving a legacy as president before he joins his ancestors.
He stated that Tinubu’s policies are on the right track, and the citizens just have to give them time to materialize.
“So if I decided to say okay this one is old enough, he is rich enough and when people get to a certain age, all they are thinking of is what will people say when I leave? They have had that money when they needed it, now all they would be thinking about is transformation,” he said.
He further highlighted positive economic signs under Tinubu’s government, including a rise in Nigeria’s foreign reserves.
He concluded by hailing Tinubu for making Northern students smile with his ongoing student loan initiative.
“I want to be like Awolowo, I want to be like… And I decided to say I know all of you but this one is better out of all of them. We should think, that is why if you abuse till tomorrow, I will just laugh. Abuse me today, you will praise me tomorrow.
Like today, our foreign reserves has gone up to $40 billion. Those people, they have been in government before, what happened to our foreign reserves? Look at what they are doing to student loans now, students in the north are singing,” he added.
